Utah Soccer Alliance would like to invite you to the 2010 USA Adidas Cup, August 18-21, 2010. We are excited that the tournament is returning to the West Jordan Soccer Complex, the largest soccer complex along the Wasatch front and one of the biggest in the region. As the tradition has been with the Adidas Cup, each participant will receive a tournament t-shirt and medals will be awarded to both 1st and 2nd place teams. 3 games guaranteed and the younger age groups will play later in the afternoon.

With 140+ teams each of the last 4 years, the Adidas Cup has become one of the largest and most competitive tournaments in the state. Get your team ready for the season and for state cup, by participating in the last tournament before state play begins. It will be a soccer party you don't want to miss, so register today!

Rocky Mountain Cup & College Showcase in Boulder, Colorado

USA had 6 teams participate in the Rocky Mountain Cup & College Showcase in Boulder, Colorado, June 11-13 for the girls and June 18-20 for the boys. The U11 Red girls and U13 White girls, both coached by Gary Tingey, were sent home early when the tournament was cancelled because of severe weather, including flooding. The boys had perfect weather and did the club proud. The U12 Red boys, coached by Ryan Mitchell, took home the Championship, outscoring their opponents, 35-3. The U14 Red boys, coached by Nermin Sasivarevic, also brought home the Championship and did not allow a single goal, while playing top teams from around the region. Nermin brought his U15 Red team, while not advancing, played very well against top competition. Ryan also brought his U16 Red team. The U16's played up a year in the U17 elite division and showed very well against nationally ranked opponents. The U17-U19 age group selects an all-star team, and USA had 2 players selected, Anthony Dib and Amir Sasivarevic. The club showed very well and has had the opportunity in this tournament to play teams from Colorado, Montana, Texas, Kansas, South Dakota, Nevada, Arkansas, Wyoming & Alaska.

Western Lights Tournament in Tooele

Club USA had several teams participate in the Western Lights Tournament in Tooele over the July 4th Holiday.

U9 Boys team (The USA Rebels under coach Jeromy Walk) went undefeated to become the tournament champions.

U9 Girls team (coach Shane Siddoway) won the championship game and took 1st.

U11 Girls team (coach Mike Andolsek) went undefeated to become the tournament champions.

U12 Girls team (coach Mike Andolsek) finished 3rd.

Mansour Ariazand rescued after fall from Bells Canyon waterfall

U9 Academy Announcement

For those interested in the U9 Academy the first training will take place July 7th at Oquirrh Shadows Park (10300 South 4000 West) at 5:30 pm. Please come ready to play wearing your shin guards and cleats, bring a size 4 ball and water to drink. Parents you will need to come and complete the Academy registration form and bring cash or a check payable to Utah Soccer Alliance for $75.00. You will have 1 training session per week for 15 weeks.

Soccer for the Homeless - Please Help!

Please Help!!!

USA club players Cole and Gage Davis are doing a service project to share something they love with others. This past year, their uncle David Nibley from Seattle started a street soccer team for the homeless. The team is primarily comprised of homeless male youth 16-24. These youth struggle to provide food, shelter and safety; therefore they are unable to spend money on soccer gear. Donations of gently used/new equipment are being collected at USA club tryouts June 2, 4, 7, & 8 from 6-8pm at South Jordan Park, or call 801-253-7472 for donation pickups.

“Street Soccer Seattle is soccer for social change. Our mission is to foster the camaraderie, community, and confidence that is central to the sport of soccer to empower homeless individuals to find greater success and peace in their lives.”

Items Needed:

• Soccer Socks

• Indoor Soccer Shoes

• Shin Guards

• Soccer Balls (Size 5 Regular or Street Soccer Balls)

• Water Bottles

• Cinch Sacks

• Goalie Gloves and Goalie Jerseys

• Money to Purchase Team Jerseys and Other Necessary Gear

USA Teams in the Wasatch Classic Tournament

Several USA teams participated in the Wasatch Classic Tournament over the Memorial Day weekend.

Team Storm (U13 Blue D3) went undefeated in regular tournament play to make it to the semi-finals!

Boys U14 Blue went undefeated in regular tournament play to make it to the semi-finals!

Boys U12 Blue went to the finals!

USA teams fair well in the UYSA Spring season

Utah Soccer Alliance continues its run of success in the state competition program and X-league. The U9 Red Boys, coached by John Carper, won the Premier Division after also winning in the Fall season. The U11 Red Boys, coached by Sean Angeletti, also won consecutive Premier Division titles, as did the U11 Red Girls, coached by Gary Tingey. Our newest Premier Division winners, are the U12 Red boys, coached by Ryan Mitchell, who clinched 1st place with the win on 5/19.

Other division winners are the U9 White Boys, coached by Mansour Ariazand, who won the 1st Division and will be moving into Premier in the Fall. The U13 Red Girls, coached by Mike Andolsek, also won the 1st Division and will moving into Premier. The U10 Blue Girls, coached by Justin Call, will win the 2nd Division with a win on Saturday.

Great job to all of our teams, as many others had great seasons.

Utah Soccer Alliance is having a "Spirit Night" club fundraiser April 20th from 5-7pm at the South Jordan Chick-Fil-A location. Please remind all of your team members, families and friends. There will be prizes and free food as incentives for the team that has the most players show up so be sure to wear your USA jerseys. Utah Soccer Alliance will be given 10% of the revenue from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
