RSL Great Andy Williams joins USA Coaching Staff!

USA is very excited to announce the addition of Real Salt Lake's Andy Williams as the newest director of our U8 Academy. Andy comes to USA after his recent retirement from RSL. Andy played in the MLS for 13 years with multiple teams but was the first ever player drafted by RSL in 2005. He also has 93 caps with the Jamaican National team including playing in the 1998 World Cup.

Andy will be over the direct operation and training of the U8 Academy starting this spring. All players that are currently registered with the Academy will continue from the Fall season. We will also allow a mid season registration for anyone that is interested in joining. There will be very limited availablity and will be handled on a first come first serve basis. Only players who are born between August 1, 2003 and July 31, 2004 are eligible at this time (NO EXCEPTIONS). If you are interested please contact Naomi Foreman at Lnforeman@msn.com. Application will only be accepted until February 16, 2012.

USA Red 01 are Just Futsal Champions!

Congratulations to USA Red '01 (BU10) team for winning the Futsal BU11 Elite Bracket at Just Futsal this past weekend. These boys finished off the season with an exciting victory over Impact BU11. At the end of regulation, the score was tied 5:5, so they headed in to PK's. USA Red kicked their way to victory scoring 3 pk's to Impact's 1. Way to go boys! USA Red '01 is coached by Sinisa Jotic, with assistant coaches John Wunderli and Rick Johnson.

U9 Boys Silver Team are Futsal Champions!

The USA Silver Team (U9) won the Utah Futsal Tournament this last weekend at the Just Indoor Soccer facility in Salt Lake. They went undefeated through the tournament and won the final 4-1 against Barcelona. In addition, the team recently won the U9 X-league B division with a perfect 10-0 record and the Salt Lake Indoor Soccer U10 division with a 7-0 record. The team is coached by Danyell and Jorge Estrada.

Congratulations to Kaleb Augat! He as been selected by the Region IV head coach over his age group to participate in the 2011 Thanksgiving Inter-regional Event with the US Youth Soccer Region IV Boys ODP. The event will be from November 24 to November 28, 2011 in Chula Vista, CA. There will be a fair number of representatives from the National Coaching staff and college coaches.

USA Adidas Cup was a Smashing Success!

The USA Adidas Cup was a smashing success! It was a soccer festival, as many vendors had great food, soccer gear, etc. USA took home 9 gold medals and 12 silver medals, in one of the most competitive tournaments of the year, and the last one before the start of the season. Special thanks to the many, many volunteers who made the tournament possible and helped it run very smooth. Thanks to the 240 teams that participated, a record there. We also had a record of 3 ambulance visits!

Combine all those things with perfect weather, and you've had a good first day. With the flood of people from 240 teams, the local merchants are loving this!
