Dennis Burrows Selected as New DOC

USA Competition Soccer Club would like to announce Dennis Burrows as the new full time Director of Coaching (DOC). Dennis brings DOC experience as well as college placement program experience to USA.

Dennis has been coaching soccer since 1989 and has been the Sparta United girls program DOC for 14 years. Dennis’ successes include 16 state cup championships, 23 state cup final appearances, coaching both boys and girls teams, and has been an ODP age group head coach since 1996. Dennis has coached top 25 nationally ranked teams and has also been involved with a successful college placement for club players which will be a great benefit to USA. Welcome Dennis, we are very excited to have you be a part of our club.

8 years ago Nermin Sasivarevic became a member of the Utah Soccer Alliance family and has loyally served as the Director of Coaching. The time has come for Nermin to bid farewell as he has decided it is time to resign due to personal reasons. Throughout these years, he has made so many friendships and has so many great memories which he is so proud of and will cherish for the rest of his life. It has been our honor to have him give of his service to all of our young players and staff. He will be missed. We want to wish Nermin and his family well and success in their future endeavors.

Utah Soccer Alliance is very committed and actively pursuing candidates to fill the new full-time Director of Coaching position. The new full time role will be a benefit to all of the coaches, players, parents and staff within Utah Soccer Alliance. With this said the USA Competition Executive Board, Coaching Committee and Staff will continue to develop the clubs mission, vision and goals as we strive to provide the best possible soccer experience for each and every player.

Former USA Players Committed to Colleges

Two members of our first girls soccer team in our club, Katie Jones and Abigail Black signed commitment to play college soccer next year. Katie Jones (coached by Eric Blommer and Nermin Sasivarevic) signed up for Southern Utah University, and Abigail Black (coached by Eric Blommer and Nermin Sasivarevic) signed up for Westminster College. In addition, Amer Sasivarevic (coached by Ryan Mitchell and Nermin Sasivarevic) currently playing for RSL academy U18 team in Arizona, received a full ride scholarship from Grand Canyon University (Men's Division I) in Phoenix, Arizona.

Several Utah OPD teams participated in the OPD Championships in Las Vegas on Jan 11-13. The 98 boys lost to Washington in the semi-finals. There were 12 states in Region IV that competed in that age group. Contrats to Kaleb Augat for being selected by the coaches to the all-tournament 1st team.

USA U-15 PREMIER GIRLS SOCCER TEAM CONTINUES TO DISPLAY THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS!

In 2009, USA teammate Jessica Valletta watched a television commercial regarding the Salt Lake City Mission. Moved by what she saw, she turned to her mom and said “what can I do?”

She contacted the Mission and learned about the Angel Tree Program. The Angel Tree Program is designed to help families who are financially struggling provide a nice Christmas for their children. The Mission gave her a list of children, their ages and wishes. That was all it took…The Premier Team was on board!

Three years later, this remarkable team continues to go above and beyond to provide happiness to others. With their busy schedules that include school and soccer, these young ladies shop for the perfect gifts, wrap them and (here is the most amazing part)….do NOT take the credit. They write on the gift tag “TO” and the child’s name. “FROM” is left to the parents…either from them (the parents) or Santa.

These wonderful young ladies are Lexi Absey, Ambree Bennett, Kierra Cable, Kaedyn Crabtree, Emily Crawford, Megan Daugherty, Kathryn Jones, Mackenzie Madrid, Analiz Morelos, Kaelin Morphis, Emily Pascua, Alex Sanchez, Anesa Sasavarevic, Sam Taylor and Jessica Valletta.

Join BYU-Hawaii men's soccer head coach Mark Davis on December 27-29, 2012 at the Utah Sports Lodge in Riverton Utah for a camp designed to refine your soccer skills and increase your knowledge of the game. Aloha Soccer Camp includes demanding training sessions, small-sided games and plenty of team scrimmages.

Aloha soccer camps are available for all levels of soccer players, from those just beginning competition to those who have had a high level of experience (premier club level and ODP). The camp will help you improve your game and also serves as a valuable scouting and recruiting tool for the BYU-Hawaii soccer coaches.

Goalkeepers are also welcome and will have keeper training sessions. If you want to attend as a goalkeeper, please indicate that position in your registration.

Kaleb Augat Selected to Best XI at Interregionals

Kaleb Augat Selected to Best XI. Kaleb represented Region IV ODP in Casa Grande, AZ this past weekend. The competition consisted of ODP teams from each region and the all-star team was selected from these players. Kaleb was one of three players from Region IV to make the team and the only player from the State of Utah. Kaleb plays for the U15 Premier team coached by Ryan Mitchell.

USA Sends 3 Teams to State Cup Finals!

Congratulations to USA who will be sending 3 teams to the State Cup Finals! This is an awesome achievement for our club and a result of having the best coaches in the State. Great job to our DOC, Nermin Sasivarevic, and the coaching staff. However, each team has one more game to go. All 3 finals will be this Saturday (Oct 20) at the Lakeside Sports Complex in Orem.
